Round 6 of the IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship 2025 delivered a nail-biting Race 1 in the TVS ASIA One Make Championship at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand where Malaysia’s Md Ramdan Rosli produced a heroic late-race surge to clinch a sensational win.
As the lights went out, India’s Sarthak Chavan made a strong launch, but Japan’s Hiroki Ono wasted no time powering past to take the early advantage. Malaysia’s Md Ramdan Rosli also made swift progress, slotting himself into the fight for the lead within the opening corners.
By Lap 2, Luis Miguel from Spain showed blistering pace, clocked a fastest lap of 1’51.279s to snatch second position as he set his sights on Hiroki. Ramdan held steady in fourth, managing his rhythm while keeping the leaders firmly in view.
Hiroki continued to defend his lead under immense pressure, with Sarthak, Ramdan and Luis locked in a three-way scrap just fractions of a second behind him.
On Lap 7, Ramdan ignited the crowd with a searing fastest lap of 1’50.234s, yet the tightly packed leading group prevented him from breaking away. The race remained too close to call, with five riders still in contention.
The final lap saw Luis Miguel surged into the lead, followed closely by Hiroki, Sarthak, and Ramdan, intensifying the battle to the finish. Refusing to back down, Ramdan launched a fearless attack, slicing past his rival. His momentum was unstoppable as he stormed to the front and powered toward the chequered flag.
Ramdan crossed the line victorious with a time of 14’52.044s, capping off one of the most dramatic finishes of the season. Luis secured second at 14’52.453s, while Sarthak completed the podium at 14’53.499s.
Ramdan shared, “It was an unbelievable race and a very tough one for me. I came into this weekend not feeling well. I had a fever and flu, and at times I felt like I was losing concentration because of my condition. Even so, I performed well in yesterday’s sessions. This morning in Qualifying, we faced some issues with the bike and I couldn’t push to set a strong lap time. But the team did an excellent job getting the bike back into perfect shape for Race 1. I’m really happy with the result and I want to thank everyone who supported me.”
