6th SUZUKA EDITION

Round 3 of the 2018 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, scheduled from June 1 to 3, will mark the 6th edition of the ARRC at the Suzuka Circuit.

The Asian series made its Suzuka debut in 2013, bringing with it, the Asian brand of aggressive racing that had come to characterize the ARRC. Add powerful local wildcards into the mix, and the result was electric.

Six years on, the historic circuit had lost none of its allure.

The 2018 edition will feature a total of 77 riders – 24 in the SuperSports 600cc, 33 in the Asia Production 250cc, and 20 in the Underbone 150cc.

In the premiere class, the main contenders of the 600cc title are back together again. Riders who had been absent from Round 2 due to various reasons, Anthony West, Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi, and Decha Kraisart, will re-group in Suzuka with Aussie rider West in the lead.

Meanwhile, the Astra Honda Racing Team trio will be the natural target for the 30 other riders in the Asia Production 250cc class.

Finally, the Underbone 150cc category, long the domain of the Malaysian and Indonesian riders, will boast its most diverse grid yet – with seven nationalities competing in the class.

The on-track action will be streamed live on the Asia Road Racing Championship’s official Facebook from Friday onwards.
