EMOTIONAL WIN FOR DIMAS

Race 1 of Round 4 in the IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship at the Mandalika International Circuit, Indonesia delivered a thriller in the UB150 category, with home hero Dimas Juli Atmoko of RACETECH SIXTY Racing producing a sensational fightback to claim his first-ever victory in the championship.

The opening lap was nothing short of chaos. While Ahmad Afif Amran of Pitsbike Superfast JRT Racing Team stormed into an early lead, the race saw a dramatic incident when April King Mascardo of UMA MMR YAMAHA PHILIPPINE RACING TEAM and Md Syamil Amsyar M Iffende of CARDINALS Factory YAMAHA ZYNERGYS Racing Team ARRC went down, forcing a shake-up in the chasing pack. A slow getaway from Dimas only added to the drama, but the Indonesian refused to give in.

By Lap 2, Afif continued to control the front, but the intensity of the group meant positions were constantly changing. Fahmi Basam of YAMAHA LFN HP969 INDONESIA RACING TEAM lit up the timing sheets on Lap 3 with a blistering fastest lap of 1’55.626s, propelling himself into the lead and igniting a wheel-to-wheel contest involving more than half a dozen riders.

The action reached boiling point on Lap 4 as Dimas attempted to break away from the group, only to be reeled back in, while Husni Zainul Fuadzy of ZIEAR LFN HP969 MCR RBT 34 quietly edged his way into podium contention. With every corner offering new overtakes, the 8-lap sprint turned into a test of nerves and precision.

Everything came down to the final lap. In front of a roaring home crowd, Dimas launched a daring move on the last corner, seizing the lead and holding his line to the chequered flag with a winning time of 15’34.548s. Husni shadowed him across the line, just 0.080s adrift, while Fahmi secured third place only 0.039s further back, underlining the narrow margins that defined the race.

Dimas teared up and said, “I am truly very grateful to be on the top of the podium. I’m so touched because this is my very first time finishing number one on the Asian stage. From Practice 1, 2, and Qualifying, I was able to get good results. Thank you to my team and crew, to my wife and child who came here to support me, and to my parents—especially my father who allowed me to race. Alhamdulillah, father, I’m number one, father! Let’s keep the spirit alive!”
