Round 6 of the IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship 2025 delivered an action-packed Race 1 in the UB150 class at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand, with overall champion, Husni Zainul Fuadzy of ZIEAR LFN HP969 MCR RBT 34 claimed victory.
From the race start, Malaysia’s Ahmad Afif Amran of Pitsbike Superfast JRT Racing Team rocketed to the front and controlled the early pace. However, as typical of the fiercely competitive UB150 class, positions behind him shuffled rapidly through the opening turns.
By Lap 2, Muhammad Adib Arsyad Mohd Hisam of UMA RACING YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR ASIA seized the lead, forcing Afif momentarily down to ninth. But the Malaysian star quickly regrouped and stormed back to the front on Lap 3, rejoining the lead pack.
The race intensified on Lap 5, when Indonesia’s Fahmi Basam of YAMAHA LFN HP969 INDONESIA RACING TEAM clocked the fastest lap time 2’01.128s to latch onto the front group. Constant position exchanges among Afif, Fahmi, Dimas Juli Atmoko of RACETECH SIXTY Racing, Peerapong Luiboonpeng of ONE FOR ALL, and Wahyu Aji Trilaksana kept the race wide open.
By Lap 7, Afif reclaimed the lead once again, though no rider managed to break away as the massive lead group remained tightly packed heading into the decisive final lap.
As riders launched their last-lap attacks, the battle for victory remained completely unpredictable. Coming into the final turn, disaster struck as Masato fell on the inside line, triggering a chain reaction that caused Afif, Wahyu, Dimas, and Md Amirul Ariff Musa of MAEZTRO NWN SCK HONDA RACING TEAM to crash out, abruptly removing several podium contenders from the fight.
The race concluded with Husni chequered flag for victory with a time of 16’26.211s. Fadli Rigani of YAMAHA LFN HP969 INDONESIA RACING TEAM secured second at 16’26.330s, while Adytya Fauzi of JPNW SND FACTORY RACING completed the podium in 16’26.850s.
Husni said, “Alhamdulillah, Race 1 went smoothly. Today was truly my lucky day, and I’m grateful that on the last lap I managed to overtake all my competitors. Thank you to my team, my wife, and my family for all their support. And to my manager, this victory is my birthday gift for you!”
