HUSNI VICTORIOUS AT CHANG

Race 1 of the opening round of the 2025 IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, delivered a thrilling spectacle in the UB150 category. Husni Zainul Fuadzy of ZIEAR LFN HP969 MCR RBT 34 emerged victorious after an intense battle.

In the Super Pole session, Shahrol Syazras Shahrol Yuzy of ESTREMO YUZY ASIA TEAM set the fastest lap time of 2’01:447s to secure pole position. He was followed by Fahmi Basam of YAMAHA LFN HP969 INDONESIA RACING TEAM with a time of 2’02:379s, while Husni qualified third at 2’02:766s.

The race began with Syazras making a strong start to take the lead. Though frequently challenged, he managed to reclaim and maintain his position at the front.

As Syazras maintained a steady pace in P1, riders behind him swapped positions at nearly every turn in a tightly contested race.

Syazras built a gap of 0:510s ahead of the chasing group. However, the unpredictable nature of the UB150 category saw the pack close the gap in a matter of seconds.

On the final lap, with pressure mounting, Husni surged into P1 and crossed the chequered flag to claim victory with a time of 16’21:843s.

Fahmi initially finished second with a time of 16’21:894s, while Syazras completed the race in third at 16’22:011s.

However, Fahmi was penalised one position for exceeding track limits at the final corner. Syazras who was supposed to take over was also penalised due to technical infringement. Next in line, Ahmad Afif Amran was announced for second place.

Husni said, “I’m really grateful to have won today, and I hope I can deliver the same result tomorrow. It started to rain during the last two laps, so I had to be more cautious, but in the end, I still pushed beyond the limit to secure the victory. I’m thankful to my team and everyone who has supported me.”
