The Asia Superbike 1000cc has begun at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia in Round 5 of the Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. Practice Session saw Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of YAMAHA TEKHNE Racing Team ASEAN stood out on home circuit with fastest lap time, combined.
During Practice 1, Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of YAMAHA TEKHNE Racing Team ASEAN emerged fastest, marking at 2’07:936s. Md Zaqhwan Zaidi of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo made the second fastest at 2’08:071s. At the third fastest, it was Yuki Kunii of SDG Team HARC-PRO Honda Ph. at 2’08:311s.
In Practice 2, Yuki Kunii of SDG Team HARC-PRO Honda Ph. topped the session by clocking fastest lap time of 2’07:108s. Andi Farid Izdihar of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo placed second at 2’07:516s followed by Md Ibrahim Md Norrodin of FGRT PROJECT at 2’07:951s.
In Practice 3, Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of YAMAHA TEKHNE Racing Team ASEAN clocked the fastest lap time of 2’06:946s watched him made it top of the pack, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of TKKR BMW Racing Team placed second spot at 2’06:984s and Yuki Kunii of SDG Team HARC-PRO Honda Ph. at third with the best lap time of 2’06:994s.
The combined practice results, Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin emerged as the fastest overall, while Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman and Yuki Kunii took the second and third spots respectively.
Kasma said, “Today’s results were somewhat satisfying for me, but there’s still room for improvement since tomorrow is a crucial day with qualifying. I’m sure other riders will also make progress, but overall, today was quite positive. There are still a few adjustments needed for tomorrow. God willing, I will do my best in qualifying and be fully prepared for the race.”
