RAMDAN CHASING DOUBLE WIN AT SEPANG

“It’s always been ‘nearly there’…” Mohd Ramdan Rosli reflects on his quest for a double win in the TVS ASIA One Make Championship at IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. As the series heads to Round 5 at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, Ramdan is laser-focused on achieving what has eluded him thus far: a Double Win. After a strong performance at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, where he secured second place in Race 1 and a victory in Race 2, Ramdan feels poised to make his mark. “Winning Race 2 at Mandalika was a huge relief and proof of what I can achieve,” he shared. “It showed me that I can achieve great things, and now I’m determined to convert that momentum into a Double Win.” The upcoming round at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit offers Ramdan the perfect opportunity. “Sepang Circuit is like a second home to me,” he explained. “I know the track well, and it’s the ideal place to finally reach my goal.” The prospect of a Double Win at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit represents both a personal triumph and a significant boost to his championship standing. “It’s a crucial moment in the season. A double win here would not only be a dream come true but also a major step in my championship bid,” he added. Securing a double win at Sepang could also provide Ramdan with an opportunity to overtake the Japanese rider, Hiroki Ono, who currently leads the overall standings. With the championship race tightening, a Double Win would significantly close the gap between them and position Ramdan at the top of the leaderboard. In preparation for this pivotal round, Ramdan has been meticulous. He has focused on enhancing his physical fitness and shedding weight to improve his performance in the lightweight category. “Every detail counts. I’ve been working hard to ensure that I’m in the best shape possible for both races.” Ramdan’s approach to PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit involves leveraging his extensive track knowledge while maintaining a focused and strategic mindset. Ramdan said, “With my familiarity with Sepang and the preparation I’ve done, I’m ready to tackle the challenges and make the most of this opportunity.” Ramdan strives to turn his “nearly there” moments into a definitive Double Win at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. “Achieving a Double Win here would be a major milestone. It’s something I’ve been aiming for, and I’m excited about the chance to make it happen,” he concluded.

STILL LEARNING

Round 4 of the Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship is hitting the grounds of PERTAMINA Mandalika International Circuit. Fully prepped for the weekend to take up the challenge of TVS Asia One Make Championship is fellow countryman Decky Tiarno Aldy who is confident in his bargains for the top three spot. The Indonesian lad made his debut three years ago when the race category was incepted and ever since, he has showcased quite the dexterity in maintaining his composure at the top five positions. In the debut season, Decky claimed the third position overall but dropped to the fifth in the following year especially with a more competitive entry list. This season, while he has tackled the fourth spot overall, he is yet to complete the rounds with a podium-finish.  The TVS Apache RR310 machine has definitely seen tremendous improvements in terms of performance over the last three years and for some riders, the challenge comes with the ability to adapt as quickly as possible. But for Decky, he said, “The machine, to me is not very different from last season perhaps because I have been riding it for a long time now. There has definitely been changes in the machine to enhance the handling and performances however that does not affect my riding techniques.” He went on to say, “What is difficult would be the competition among the contenders. The battle is much fiery compared to the last season and it is not easy to keep up with the pace. Everyone wants a piece of the pie and to put on a good fight is tough. On top of that, I could not maximise my performance yet this season due to my injury. I have not fully recovered. Although I know that there is room for improvements, this season has nevertheless been a great season so far because I have picked up on new experiences compared to last season.” “The Mandalika circuit is not a very technical one. I like the character and layout of the circuit and I am pretty confident with my performances for the next round. Regardless, the preparation is still important. For now, I am working on my physique and mental strength. I jog everyday to build up my stamina. I want to finish podium on my home-ground for sure. I have not stepped my foot on the podium yet for the season so my wish is to raise my country, Indonesia’s flag on the podium this weekend.”
