It was a better day for Andy Muhammad Fadly of Motul Sniper Manual Tech Racing Team when he emerged fastest in Race 2 of the competitive Asia Production 250cc category. Andy, who finished third at the podium in Race 1 battled through the 10-lap race with a better performance, displaying high-level skills while manoeuvring his machine to keep up his pace. Although Andy fell back in line in lap 8, he managed to make his way up to the second spot in lap 9, striding along the top three contenders. It was a heated battle in the final lap of who will take the win and between Andy and Rafid Topan, Andy who rode the Kawasaki Ninja 250 made the cut when he clocked in at 19:11:491s. “Today was a better day – the weather was good and I was able to take better charge of my machine.” “It would not deny that the race was highly competitive. VICTORY FOR MALAYSIAN RIDER IN THE UB150

It’s a win for Malaysian rider Ahmad Afif Amran of Cardinals Racing Team at the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship when he emerged fastest in the Underbone 150cc category, Race 2. Afif who took the fourth position on the grid picked up his pace at the third lap, re-positioning himself second among the troupe of riders. It was a battle between Afif and the rider before him but at the fourth lap, Afif managed to stride ahead and take the lead.  Afif flaunted his skills when he raced out of the traps in lap five and sped ahead leaving a trail of riders chasing after him. He maintained his pace throughout the remaining laps and finished strong at 16:34:083s, almost 3 seconds ahead of the next rider in line. “The team has worked tirelessly throughout the weekend to fine tune the machine, to ensure we get the right timing. It was a well-planned move by Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA when his blistering pace earned him the winner title for the ASB1000 category in the season opener at Chang International Circuit. The much-anticipated race kept everyone at the edge of their seats as Zaqhwan who rode on the Honda CBR1000 RR R showcased his flawless tactics, riding swiftly along the first seven laps before making a calculated move to the top two position.  Towards the end of the race, the heat was on between Zaqhwan and Haruki Noguchi, the poleman who maintained his position at top speed through 11 laps. Andi Farid Izdihar of ASTRA HONDA Racing Team smashed the Race 1 of SuperSports 600cc at the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship when he emerged first in what was a battle among Asia’s best. Getting off to a flying start from a pole position, Andi laboured through the first few laps at top speed, maintaining his rank at the top two spots. Working up their speed close behind Andi were duo, Nakarin Atiratphuvapat and Mohd Helmi Azman. By midpoint, it was a neck-to-neck battle between the trio. Towards the last few laps, Nakarin pulled through ahead of Andi and took the lead while Andi dropped to the second-best spot. It was a triumph after a two-year hiatus for ASTRA HONDA Racing Team at the Race 1 of FIM Asia Road Racing Round 1 when Rheza Danica Ahrens took the first spot at the podium. Rheza who took the fourth position at the Grid was pushed back, behind the top five riders in the first lap but managed to make his way back into the top three position in lap two.  Throughout the 10-lap race, Rheza managed his strategies well, striding in and out of the top 3 position before he fell one step behind in the seventh lap. However, in lap eight, Rheza upped his speed and emerged strong to take lead ahead of the troupe.  The nail-biting moment took place when Rheza battled with his biggest contenders Piyawat Patoomyos and Andy Muhammad Fadly at the final lap. Izzat, the Malaysian rider who took the second row from the Superpole after coming in fourth at the challenge struggled to find his pace in the beginning. Striding alongside a stretch of riders, Izzat who rode the Yamaha Y15 ZR machine picked up his speed towards the remaining 3 laps. Izzat broke into the top three troupe by the seventh lap, taking the second spot before strengthening his strategy to finish ahead by 0.240s. “It was a challenge coming back to the Asian circuit after a two-year break.
