RIDER STANDING UPDATE

The Race 2 of Round 2, Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship was cancelled today due to a typhoon warning issued by the The Municipal Meteorological Observatory overall standings for the top five riders for each race category as below: In the Asia Superbike 1000cc race category, Andi Farid Izdihar of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo takes lead with a total of 65 points after a great showmanship in Race 1 yesterday. Raking it at the second spot overall is Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of TKKR BMW Racing Team with a total of 52 points after succumbing to third place in the heat of fast and fury. Hafizh Syahrin of JDT RACING TEAM who outstood the rest and bagged the winning title instantly took a leap into third place with a total of 45 points. In the SuperSports 600cc race category, Apiwath Wongthananon of YAMAHA TEKHNE Racing Team ASEAN maintains his high at the top spot with a total of 70 points despite a slight fall at the second spot in Race 1 after a double win on home-ground. At second spot overall is Adenanta Putra of ASTRA HONDA RACING TEAM with a total of 49 points after finishing fourth yesterday. Taking the third place overall is Md Helmi Azman of Idemitsu Boon Siew Honda Racing Team with a total of 36 points. The Asia Production 250cc race category sees Herjun Atna Firdaus at the top spot with a total of 57 points after finishing third on the podium at ZIC. Faerozi Toreqottullah of YAMAHA Racing Indonesia takes the second spot overall with a total of 54 points after finishing first although he was later placed second after final decision by race direction. Syarifuddin Azman of Idemitsu Boon Siew Honda Racing takes third overall with a total of 42 points after finishing fourth in Race 1. The Underbone 150cc race category concluded Round 2 with defending champion, Nazirul Izzat of UMA Racing YAMAHA Maju Motor Asia maintaining his lead spot with a total of 41 points. Murobbil Vittoni of YAMAHA LFN HP969 INDONESIA Racing Team takes the second spot overall with a total of 36 points followed by teammate Fahmi Basam with a total of 32 points. In the TVS Asia One Make Championship, Hiroki Ono of Japan made hat-trick with yet another win yesterday, awarding him with the lead position at 75 points. Ramdan Rosli of Malaysia takes the second spot overall with a total of 51 points after finishing second on the podium in Race 1. Race 2 of Round 2, IDEMITSU FIM ASIA ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP at Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) is cancelled due to typhoon warning. The Municipal Meteorological Observatory has upgraded the yellow warning signal of rainstorm to orange at 10.00 am while retaining the yellow warning signal of thunderstorm and gale which calls for suspension of outdoor work and activities. Our partners and teams regret to announce the cancellation however priority is given to the safety of riders, teams, workforce and spectators of ARRC and apologises for the inconvenience caused. HAFIZH, NO MERCY

The pulse-pounding action of Race 1 of Round 2 IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship in the Asia Superbike 1000cc category continued delivering high-speed drama and exhilarating moments for fans. Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah of JDT RACING TEAM emerged victorious, clinching the top spot on the podium despite facing some challenges. Earlier in the Qualifying session, Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah secured pole position with a blistering lap time of 1’33:351s, showcased an impressive speed and precision on the track. He was closely followed by Nakarin Atiratphuvapat of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo who clocked 1’33:623s and Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman TKKR BMW Racing Team at 1’33:660s. As the race commenced, Hafizh asserted his dominance, storming into the lead from the outset. Behind him, Nakarin and Azlan fought fiercely, each determined to challenge Hafizh’s position at the front. Throughout the race, Hafizh demonstrated exceptional control and skill, maintaining a steady pace and holding off his rivals despite increasing pressure. Behind him was Andi Farid Izdihar from Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo made his way from P7 to P3, mounted a relentless pursuit, but Hafizh held firm, defending his position with determination. In the final lap, Andi closed in on and overtook Azlan to be in P2. Hafizh crossed the finish line in first place with a total time of 20’24:461s, securing a well-deserved victory. Hafizh stated, “Today’s race was incredibly challenging, especially in the last few turns where my tyre started to become unstable. I had to dig deep and focus on maintaining control. I want to thank my team for their hard work and support, and I dedicate this win to my baby. AZROY, FROM “DNF” TO “WIN”

The intensity of Race 1 of Round 2 IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship continued at Zhuhai International Circuit with the highly competitive SuperSport 600cc category as Azroy Hakeem Anuar of IDEMITSU Boon Siew Honda Racing Team emerged victorious, cementing his place at the top of the podium. In a gripping Qualifying session, Mohammad Adenanta Putra from ASTRA HONDA RACING TEAM claimed pole position with a lightning-fast lap time of 1’36:890s, closely pursued by Azroy Hakeem Anuar at 1’37:069s and Apiwath Wongthananon of YAMAHA TEKHNE Racing Team Asia at 1’37:241s. Azroy wasted no time as the race started by surging to the front of the pack with Apiwath hot on his heels. In a stunning maneuver at the second turn, Apiwath briefly overtook Azroy, setting the stage for an intense battle for the lead. The race witnessed a flurry of position change as Azroy and Apiwath traded places. Despite the pressure from Apiwath, Azroy remained resolute, reclaiming the lead multiple times throughout the race. On the fifth lap, a crash involving Rheza Danica Ahrens from ASTRA HONDA RACING TEAM allowing Thanat Laoongplio from Honda Racing Thailand to climb into fifth position. As the race reached its climax, Azroy faced a fierce challenge from Apiwath, who made a valiant effort to overtake him in the final lap. However, Azroy held firm, crossing the finish line in first place at 19’36:159s, closely followed by Apiwath in second with 19’36:542s and Muhammad Helmi Azman from IDEMITSU Boon Siew Honda Racing Team who clocked 19’39:194s in third. Azroy said “I am out of words. Last round in Buriram, I didn’t finish both Race 1 and Race 2. That put me in a bad mood and all I wished for this round was just to complete the race. But when the race started, I saw my lap time was good. Behind me, sometimes I could hear Apiwath close to me, sometime I couldn’t. That’s when I realized that my pace was strong. Apiwath is a dangerous rider. When he overtook me at turn 6, I thought he would win this race but I didn’t want to give up easily, so I kept attacking to pressure him and I won the race. VIET NAM MARKS HISTORY, FOR VIETNAM

The excitement continued to build up at the Zhuhai International Circuit as Race 1 of the Asia Production 250cc category unfolded in Round 2 IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. Amidst intense competition and thrilling battles on the track, Cao Viet Nam of Honda Racing Vietnam Team emerged victorious in a dramatic turn of events. Qualifying set the stage for an electrifying race as Arai Agaska Dibani Laksana from YAMAHA Racing Indonesia claimed pole position with a blistering lap time of 1’51:261s, closely followed by Muhammad Faerozi Toreqottullah of YAMAHA Racing Indonesia at 1’51:450s and Md Syarifuddin Azman of IDEMITSU Boon Siew Honda Racing Team at 1’51:629s. As the race kicked off, Faerozi surged to the front and led the charge, followed by Arai, Syarifuddin, Cao Viet Nam, and Herjun Atna Firdaus of ASTRA HONDA RACING TEAM. The race took a series of intense turns as positions changed frequently. By the second lap, Viet Nam surged into second place but Arai reclaimed the lead by the fourth lap, with Faerozi and Viet Nam in hot pursuit. In a dramatic turn of events on the eighth lap, Herjun claimed the lead, with Faerozi and Viet Nam close behind. However, a crash involving Arai watched him off of the race. As the race entered the final lap, Herjun maintained his lead, with Faerozi in second and Viet Nam in third the overtaking attempt continued. The race ended with Faerozi in first place at 18’42:054ss, followed by Herjun at 18’42:409s and Viet Nam at 18’42:822s. However, a video review showed Faerozi pushing Viet Nam out of the lane near the finish line, resulting in a decision by the race direction, placing Viet Nam on the winning pedestal and Faerozi finishing in second place. HIROKI MADE HAT TRICK AGAIN

The thrilling action of the Round 2 IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship intensified at Zhuhai International Circuit, China, today as the TVS Asia One Make Championship kicked off with an electrifying Race 1. When the race started, Hiroki Ono from Japan took charge of the race, leading the pack with Mohd Ramdan Rosli from Malaysia close behind in P2, followed by Md Muzakkir Mohamed in P3. As the race progressed into the second lap, Hiroki maintained his lead while Ramdan held onto P2 but Riichi Takahira from Japan took a bold move, overtaking Ramdan to claim P2, with Muzakkir at P4. The top four riders formed a front group, distancing themselves from the rest of the pack by at least a second. By the sixth lap, Riichi Takahira had managed to secure P2, overtaking Ramdan. However, Ramdan fought back and reclaimed P2 as they entered the final two laps, setting the stage for a gripping battle between him and Hiroki. With Ramdan tailing Hiroki closely, the tension heightened. However, in a heart-stopping moment on the final lap, Hiroki Ono maintained his composure and crossed the finish line in first position at 14’30:653s, securing a well-deserved victory for Japan. HAFIZH TOPPED OVERALL 1000CC

The roaring of the Asia Superbike 1000cc has begun at the Zhuhai International Circuit as riders gear up for Round 2 of the Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC). Round 1 saw Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah of JDT RACING TEAM stood out on the circuit consequently taking lead in the overall standings. During Practice 1, Yuki Kunii of SDG Team HARC-PRO Honda Ph. seem to have gained confidence when emerged fastest, marking at 1’42:898s. Andi Farid Izdihar of  Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo  made the second fastest at 1’43:194s. At the third fastest, it was Passawit Thitivararak – Astemo SI Racing with Thai Honda at 1’43:205s. In Practice 2, Md Zaqhwan Zaidi of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo clocked the fastest lap time of 1’42:068s to secure top spot. Andi and Yukii rounded up the top three position at the fastest lap time of 1’43:388s and 1’43:477s respectively. In Practice 3, Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah of JDT RACING TEAM took his time to get adjusted to the pace, made it on top at 1’34:789s while Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of TKKR BMW Racing Team kept up his momentum and took the second place with the fastest lap time of 1’34:889s followed by Andi at 1’34:908s.
