However, Md Akid Aziz from PitsBike OneWay JRT Tech2 Racing Team swiftly took control on the second lap, with RACETECH SIXTY Racing Team’s rider, Adytya Fauzi and Dimas Juli Atmoko from One For All closely trailing behind. As the riders approached the final lap, Wahyu Aji Trilaksana of RACETECH SIXTY Racing Team surged ahead, battling fiercely with Adytya and Peerapong Luiboonpeng of One For All for the lead. Round 1 of IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship reached new heights with Race 1 in the fiercely contested Asia Superbike 1000cc category at Chang International Circuit. In a stunning display of skill and determination, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of TKKR BMW Racing Team emerged triumphant, thrilling spectators with his remarkable performance on the track. Azlan began fifth on the grid with his fastest lap time at 1’34:978s behind Nakarin Atiratphuvapat and Andi Farid Izdihar of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo who finished in first and second at 1’34:287s and 1’34:603s. Hafizh Syahrin from JDT RACING TEAM took third on the grid at 1’34:733s. As the race started, Nakarin took an early lead, setting a blistering pace at the front of the pack. Behind him, Andi and Yuki closely trailed, eager to challenge the top positions. By the fourth lap, Azlan made a remarkable surge from P7 steadily climbing up the ranks and showcasing his determination to vie for victory. With each lap, Azlan continued his ascent, overtaking competitors and steadily closing in on the leaders. In a breathtaking series of maneuvers, Azlan overtook Nakarin and Yuki to secure P2 by the ninth lap, setting his sights on leader Andi. Round 1 of the IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship continued with Race 1 in the highly competitive category of Asia Superbike 1000cc. Amidst the excitement and anticipation, Apiwath Wongthananonof YAMAHA TEKHNE Racing Team ASIA emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional skill and strategy at Chang International Circuit. Apiwath began third on the grid after the Qualifying session with his fastest lap time at 1:38.734s behind duo of the same team, Muhammad Helmi Azman Azroy Hakeem Anuar and Azroy Hakeem Anuar of IDEMITSU Boon Siew Honda Racing Team who finished first and second with their fastest lap time at 1:38.600s and 1:38.606s respectively. As the race started, Apiwath was quick to take lead, setting a blistering pace from the outset. Behind him, Helmi and Azroy closely followed, eager to seize the opportunity to challenge the Thailand rider. In a thrilling exchange of positions, Apiwath maintained his lead from the early laps, with Helmi chasing him down furiously. However, Helmi’s determined efforts paid off only for a short while as he overtook Apiwath on the third lap, before theThai lad reclaimed the position. The intensity of the race escalated on the fifth lap as Azroy encountered a crash with Wahyu Nugroho from YAMAHA Racing Indonesia, forcing Azroy out of the race while Nugroho continued without falling. As a result, Wahyu took over P3. Meanwhile, Mohammad Adenanta Putra of Astra Honda Racing Team showcased remarkable resilience as he climbed up the ranks, eventually overtaking Wahyu Nugroho on the seventh lap to bag the third position. In a breathtaking display of speed and skill, ApiwathWongthananon surged ahead in the final laps, leaving a gap between him and Helmi, ultimately crossing the finish line in first position with total time of 20’00:231s. Apiwath Wongthananon expressed gratitude to his team and Yamaha for their support, stating, “Today is a perfect day for me. He took the pole-position on the grid followed by Herjun Atna Firdaus of Astra Honda Racing Team and Cao Viet Nam of Honda Racing Vietnam Team on the second and third spot when they clocked in at 1:52.238s and 1:52.616s respectively. As the race commenced, Faerozi immediately took charge as he went on in an exhilarating battle on the track. Behind him, Herjun and Viet Nam followed closely, eager to seize the opportunity to take the lead. Despite determined efforts from Arai Agaska Dibani Laksana from Yamaha Racing Indonesia, the top spot eluded him as Viet Nam hustled his way to the front, putting Faeroziin second position. However, the race was far from over, with Arai also making his presence felt as he surged to third place by the sixth lap. In the heat of the moment, Herjun surged ahead to claim the lead on the seventh lap, with Faerozi closely following in third position. The race intensified as Muhammad Kiandra Ramadhipa from Astra Honda Racing Team led the pack in the remaining laps. As the final lap approached, Viet Nam led the race, but Faerozi unleashed a stunning display of skill and determination, surging to the front towards the end of the race and ultimately crossing the finish line in first position with a total time of 18:53.834s. Faerozi said, “I stayed focused throughout the race, managing the engine temperature and conserving energy. The Chang International Circuit reverberated with the thunderous roar of engines as the Asia Superbike  1000cc category kicked off with Round 1 of the IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. The  practice sessions provided a thrilling preview of the intense battles to come, with Markus Reiterberger  from TKKR BMW Racing Team back to top the Practice Session.  In Practice 1, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of TKKR BMW Racing Team set the pace with an impressive  lap time of 1:35.421s, closely followed by his teammate Markus at 1:35.560s and Nakarin  Atiratphuvapat from Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo showcased his speed when he clocked in  at 1:35.601s, rounding out the top three.  Practice 2 saw Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman maintain his dominance with the fastest lap time at  1:35.443s, while Yuki Kunii from SDG Team HARC-PRO Honda Ph. demonstrated his prowess with a  strong performance at 1:35.487s. Meanwhile, Markus secured the third spot at 1:35.589s.  The race intensified in Practice 3 as Markus stormed to the top of the timesheets with the fastest lap  time at 1:35.411s, signaling his intent to defend his overall championship title. Despite facing challenges  with his bike, Markus found the right setup, setting the stage for an exciting Qualifying session tomorrow.  The combined practice results revealed the top contenders in the field starting with Markus of at  1:35.411s followed by Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman at 1:35.421s and Andi Farid Izdihar of Honda Asia Dream Racing with Astemo at 1:35.456s.  Markus said “I have to push harder to be on the top as all the riders are very fast and it will not be an  easy task for sure. Azlan is very strong, not forgetting Andi and other Honda riders, as well as Hafizh  Syahrin who displayed a drastic improvement with his Ducati bike. The excitement was palpable as the Chang International Circuit played host to the opening round of the  IDEMITSU FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, featuring the intense battles of the Supersports 600cc  category. Practice sessions saw Apiwath Wongthananon of YAMAHA TEKHNE Racing Team ASIA  pushing the limits, setting the stage for a weekend filled with adrenaline-fueled racing. In Practice 1, Apiwath stormed to the top of the leaderboard with a blistering lap time of 1:38.902s,  showcasing his speed and skill on the track. Rheza Danica Ahrens from ASTRA HONDA RACING  TEAM with his best lap time of 1:39.514s and Muhammad Helmi Azman of IDEMITSU Boon Siew  Honda Racing Team at 1:39.570s were also impressive with their performances, securing the second  and third positions, respectively.  Practice 2 witnessed Apiwath maintaining his momentum, reaffirmed his dominance with another  impressive lap time at 1:38.898s. Azroy Hakeem Anuar from IDEMITSU Boon Siew Honda Racing Team  showcased his consistency, securing the second spot at 1:39.283s, followed closely by Muhammad  Helmi Azman at 1:39.366s.  The intensity reached new heights in Practice 3 as Azroy Hakeem Anuar delivered a stellar  performance, clinching the top spot with the fastest lap time at 1:39.419s. Mohammad Adenanta Putra  from ASTRA HONDA RACING TEAM showcased his skill with the best lap time at 1:39.524s, securing  the second position, while Apiwath rounded out the top three at 1:39.555s.  As the combined practice results were unveiled, Apiwath came out fastest for the day with his best lap  time at 1:38.898s. Azroy who clocked the best lap time of 1:39.283s in Practice 2 and Muhammad Helmi  Azman too recorded 1:39.366s in Practice 2 showcased their consistency, securing the second and  third positions, respectively, setting the stage for an electrifying battle in the upcoming races.  Apiwath said “I am happy with the result for today, and I will try more new parts on my bike tomorrow  and see how it goes. For sure, it will be better in the race. Besides that, the weather is very hot and the  track temperature hit 70 degrees Celsius, but I learned how to keep the tyre at minimal consumption.
