The SuperSports 600cc was off to a good start this weekend with riders raging ambitiously on the circuit towards victory. Andi Farid Izdihar of ASTRA HONDA Racing Team bagged the winning spot in Round 4 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship held at the Sepang International Circuit. As the pole-man, Andi began with an advantage however his experience and expertise kept him grounded at P1 as he steadily maneuvered his wheels around the circuit. Close behind him were Malaysian teammates Azroy and Helmi who were at P2 and P3 respectively. For the first four laps, the top-three trio paced to the same rhythm before Helmi made his move to overtake Azroy. Andi kept suave to his position way ahead of the duo trailing him. By the fifth lap, Azroy managed to slide back ahead of Helmi. As Andi went on swiftly ahead of the troop, Azroy picked up speed and Helmi battled to stay put in P3. With Nakarin pressuring Helmi from the back,the latter had to find ways to keep up to the momentum. However, in the sixth lap, Nakarin succeeded in taking over Helmi’s position and for two laps, Helmi pushed himself further to get back into the earlier rhythm. By the last lap, Azroy inched closer to Andi and began closing up the gap. At the last turn, the heat turned up as Azroy sled ahead into P1 but Andi was not about to give up. He quickly grabbed P1. Towards the chequered flag, Andi and Azroy were in a nip and tuck before Andi clocked in first at 21’52:823s. Commenting on the race, Andi said, “I was confident during the race especially in the beginning. I was able to create the huge gap between myself and the troop behind me. I tried to keep up to the pace to manage the race better but towards the last three laps, my rear tire began to give way and the grip was slipping away. I am happy that despite the circumstances, I was still able to hold on to P1. Of course, the situation will have to be analysed but I am certainly looking forward to tomorrow’s race.” Second and third spot on the podium belonged to teammates Azroy Hakeem Anuar and Md Helmi Azman of Boon Siew HONDA Racing Team who logged in at 21’52:824s and 21’54:349s respectively. ONE FOR INDONESIA WITH ADENANTA’S VICTORY

Race 1 witnessed an exciting match between the Asia Production 250cc riders who stormed their way relentlessly in pursuit of victory. Md Adenanta Putra of ASTRA HONDA Racing Team completed the race with flying colours at Round 4 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship held at the Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Adenanta was off to a good start when he bolted ahead to P1 as soon as the race flagged off. Pole-man Andy unfortunately lost his pace and fell two positions down. In the first lap, the latter was seen trying to find his momentum however his moves failed. In the second lap, as Aldi Satya took over P1, Andy grew further away from the top three circle. In the third lap, Rheza Danica seemed to have found control of his machine as he went on to lead the troop of riders however by the fourth lap, the lead was grabbed by Herjun Atna. By mid-race, Adenanta managed to move himself up from P2 and with three more laps to go, he was determined to guard his position with all his might. As he picked up speed in the sixth lap, his teammate Rhezakept himself close by before making his move to take over P1 at the seventh lap. With one more lap to go, the ASTRA HONDA Racing Team riders teamed up and took dominance of the circuit with Adenanta back in P1. Yamaha rider, Aldi tailed close behind the trio at P4. While Adenanta kept steady at P1, Aldi was waiting to strike and by the final quarter of the lap, he took over P3. That was not enough for Aldi as he went on into one final battle at the last turn. After almost colliding into Rheza, Aldi managed to take control of his machine and bolted ahead, clocking in second at 19’47:120s. Md Adenanta Putra of ASTRA HONDA Racing Team claimed victory at 19’46:847s. Commenting on the race, Adenanta said, “I struggled a little with the rear tire. However, I ignored and tried to stay focus on being in front. I stayed on consistent and managed my tires till the last lap. The Underbone 150cc race category has never ceased to amaze its fans and when Md Izzat Zaidi Md Salehan bolted to the chequered flag before the other riders, it was a celebratory moment for Pitsbike JRT OneWay in Race 1 of Round 4, FIM Asia Road Racing Championship held at Sepang International Circuit. The nail-biting race flagged off with Gupita Kresna at the pole position. However, after the first lap, Gian Carlo Mauricio took lead before Ahmad Fazli Sham who was at P2 took over. For two laps, Fazli clocked in fastest before the baton was passed on to Nazirul Izzat in the fourth lap. Meanwhile, a slight distraction occurred when Ahmad Afif Amran took a fall at turn nine. In the fifth lap, Muhammad Syafiq Rosli took lead before the entire troop engaged in one final lap towards the chequered flag. After the last turn, the heat turned up as Md Izzat Zaidi Md Salehan, Nazirrul Izzat Md Bahauddin and Wahyu Aji Trilaksana entered into a wild chase towards the finish line. However, Izzat Zaidi went full throttle ahead of the duo and took the winning crown, clocking inat 15’46:570s. Commenting on the race, Izzat said, “It was a fantastic race today and thanks to my team for the amazing setup of my machine. WATCHARIN CELEBRATED HIS FIRST WIN

It was a victorious moment for Watcharin Tubtimon from Thailand when he bagged the winning glory in Race 1 of Round 4, FIM Asia Road Racing Championship in the TVS Asia One-Make Championship category held at Sepang International Circuit. Earlier in the morning, the qualifying session for the race category brought the best out of Singaporean lad, Arsyad Rusydi when he made the fastest at 2’32:231s. At the second fastest spot, it was Agung Septian from Indonesia who clocked in his best at 2’32:563s. His countryman, Decky Tiarno Aldy came in the third fastest at 2’33:268s. As soon as the race flagged off in Race 1, Decky found his way up from the third spot on the grid to P1 and while he stayed consistent and grounded in the position for the first four laps, he was seen being chased ferociously by Agung and Vorapong. By the fifth lap, Agung made his move and took lead leaving Decky in a heated battle with Vorapong. Meanwhile, Watcharin Tubtimon who had been on the hunt was waiting for his moment to strike. For five laps, he was stuck with no opportunities of breaking into the top three circle. However, towards the final lap and the last turn, Watcharin emerged among the top three riders, inches away from Vorapong who was then already at the lead position. Seconds towards the chequered flag,Watcharin made his final dash and took the winning spot for the first time this season, clocking in at 14’59:983s. Commenting on the race, Watcharin said, “In the first few laps, there was slight rain. But I went on to do my best. I planned to put on a good fight in the last corner and I managed to work it. It was a wet day at the Sepang International Circuit as the Asia Superbike 1000cc category’s Qualifying Session rolled out. Despite that, the star riders of the category completed the twenty-minute session successfully with Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of YAMAHA Racing Team ASEAN marking the fastest lap time. In the morning, the riders warmed themselves up under the fall of light shower during the third practice session. Kasma seemed to have it all under control when he appeared as the fastest rider in the combined result sheet. He clocked in at 2’06:801s. Coming close behind him at the second fastest in the combined sheet was Haruki Noguchi of SDG Motor Sports HARC-PRO Ph. at 2’07:601sand at the third fastest place was Anupab Sarmoon of YAMAHA Thailand Racing Team at 2’07:870s. Coming at the fourth and fifth fastest spot in the practice session were Takuya Tsuda of MOBILUB SUZUKI RACING TEAM 2’08:024s and Apiwath Wongthananon YAMAHA Thailand Racing Team at 2’08:293s. I was very confident with the machine from FP1 yesterday. For the wet condition today too, there were no doubts and I rode according to my own style and comfort. The SuperSports 600cc today was brought into an elaborate schedule with their final practice session in the morning and the qualifying session in the noon. Andi Farid Izdihar of ASTRA HONDA Racing Team made the fastest cut today at the Qualifying Session. The task has never been easy for any rider of the SS600 category who have to constantly build up their portfolio considering the robust rivalry between them. After the final practice session for the round, Andi emerged as the fastest in the combined practice result sheet, with his fastest at 2’10:191s. Nakarin Atiratphuvapat of HONDA Racing Thailand made the second fastest at 2’11:002sfollowed by Md Helmi Azman of Boon Siew HONDA Racing Team at 2’11:435s. At the fourth fastest spot, it was Azroy Hakeem Anuar of Boon Siew HONDA Racing Team at 2’11:490s and at the fifth fastest, it was Galang Hendra Pratama of YAMAHA Racing Indonesia at 2’11:559s. In the qualifying session, Andi once again flexed his muscles to obtain the best spot on the grid. Although the competition was stiff with his contenders just seconds away, he managed to complete the session ahead at 2’23:770s. Commenting on the session, Andi said, “I am truly happy with the pole position but our main concern would be to understand the rain condition in this circuit. This would be the first time we are riding in a rainy situation so I want to analyse everything that happens and review the possibilities that could happen.” “In the beginning, it was quite good but towards the end, I found myself struggling with the grip. But I am happy to have managed it well in the last lap. Tomorrow, rain or shine, I would be more prepared for the races. It was quite an unpredictable weather in the region of Sepang today however the show went on gracefully. The Qualifying Session of the Asia Production 250cc today ended with Andy Muhammad Fadly of Motul Sniper Manual Tech Racing Team making the fastest lap time. The race category comprising nineteen riders went well despite the drizzle. Earlier this morning, the third practice session for the category concluded with three of ASTRA HONDA Racing Team’s riders making the top three fastest lap time. Herjun Atna Firdaus made his best at 2’25:945s, followed by Md Adenanta Putra at 2’26:269s and Rheza Dhanica with his best at 2’26:375s. Coming in at the fourth and fifth fastest were Piyawat Patoomyos of HONDA Racing Thailand at 2’26:658s and Aiki Iyoshi of Motul Sniper Manual Tech Racing Team at 2’27:340s. For the qualifying session, Andy bolted out strong this time around compared to his previous performances in Round 3. Although he did not make it fastest in the practice sessions, he managed to make the best out of the qualifying session when he logged in at 2’37:401s. Commenting on the session, Andy said, “The rainy situation was great for me. Frankly, I struggle a lot in hot situations especially with the engine and setup of the machine. SHAFIQ COMPETED WELL IN THE QUALIFYING SESSION

The Underbone 150cc heated up the Sepang International Circuit this morning with its Qualifying Session and Md Shafiq Rasol of ONEXOX Racing Team made the fastest for Round 4 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. It was quite a session this morning with over twenty of Asia’s best riders swamping in to clock in their best time. The thirty minutes session saw a fierce rivalry between the Underbone riders who were trying to find their pace and manage their machines to qualify for the “Shoot Out” session scheduled for the noon. Shafiq who came aboard the ARRC as a wildcard rider has put on a good performance thus far, taking the second fastest spot in the combined practice session yesterday, marking at 2’33:922s. Today, he recorded an improved timing when he clocked in fastest at 2’33:244s. Commenting on the session, Shafiq said, “I do not have a specific goal for this round. Coming in as a wildcard rider for ARRC, the challenges are different in terms of gauging the rider and their capabilities. I will nevertheless do well based on my experiences and hopefully, it will be a good shot.” In second fastest spot, it was Ahmad Afif Amran of Cardinals Racing Team Malaysia logging in at 2’33:698s. Gupita Kresna of 4S1M YAMAHA Racing Team came in the third fastest at 2’33:735s. Later in the noon, Gupita Kresna of 4S1M YAMAHA Racing Team took the pole position after the Shoot Out session when he marked his fastest at 2’46:909s. After two rounds in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, the TVS Asia One-Make Championship is back once again for its third cycle in Round 4 which is being held at the Sepang International Circuit. Vorapong Malahuan from Thailand marked the fastest in the result sheet of the combined practice session today. The Thailand lad has never failed to give his best each time he hits the circuit. Out of the four races, Vorapong has taken two wins and two podiums since the TVS Asia One-Make Championship made its debut this season. Vorapong currently sits at the top spot in the overall standings with a total of 86 points. Vorapong made his fastest time in the practice session at 2’36:928s. In practice session one, he made his fastest at 2’39:203s. Commenting on the session, Vorapong said, “Sepang circuit is my favourite one and I am really happy to ride here. No matter whatever machine, I am able to ride well at this circuit. With the rainy weather, it is definitely a new experience for myself and the other TVS riders especially in getting adapted to different conditions. The Asia Superbike 1000cc hints a more exciting ground for battle between Asia’s best as they flex their muscles in a bid to claim a victorious title. With another two more rounds to go, Apiwath Wongthananon of YAMAHA Thailand Racing Team is determined to take his actions to another level at Round 4 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship which will be held at Sepang InternationalCircuit. Year 2020 placed Apiwath on the limelight when he banked in the highest points in the one-round season before the two-year hiatus broke in. The 28-year-old Thailand born rider who previously rode in the SS600 race category made quite a finish in the debut season of the ASB1000 category in 2019 when he obtained the 4 th spot overall with a total of 161 points. This season, Apiwath took one win in his home-ground during Race 2 of Round 1 and a podium in Race 1, Round 2 which was held at Sepang International Circuit. His win according to him, “Race 2 was tough when I missed the opportunity to take lead. But I then tried to push forward and managed to get a good pace. It was not until the last turn of the last lap that I made my move to maximise the speed and overtake the rider at the lead position then. I made it and I won!” Round 3 at Sugo International Racing Course however was not quite on his side when he was taken of the equation in Race 1 due to a faulty machine. Despite lacking experience on the circuit, Apiwath managed to make it to the chequered flag fifth to salvage his overall standings at the fifth spot. Commenting on Round 3, Apiwath said, “I was very disappointed with the results after Round 3. The circuit belonged to Yamaha but unfortunately my advantage diminished the moment an unexpected casualty occurred and caused damage to the radiator. The red flag came up. As I lost my points there, I also lost my confidence. However, my consolation was the fact that it was my first time atSugo. Overall, I am glad that ARRC is back and the circuits have been great ones.” Despite the unforeseen circumstances, Apiwath is driven to do his best in the upcoming round. He said, “I am currently focused for Round 4 at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. Sure, it will not be an easy one because there are many fiery and robust homegrown talents. I will not give up easily.
