SHAFIQ COMPETED WELL IN THE QUALIFYING SESSION

The Underbone 150cc heated up the Sepang International Circuit this morning with its Qualifying Session and Md Shafiq Rasol of ONEXOX Racing Team made the fastest for Round 4 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. It was quite a session this morning with over twenty of Asia’s best riders swamping in to clock in their best time. The thirty minutes session saw a fierce rivalry between the Underbone riders who were trying to find their pace and manage their machines to qualify for the “Shoot Out” session scheduled for the noon. Shafiq who came aboard the ARRC as a wildcard rider has put on a good performance thus far, taking the second fastest spot in the combined practice session yesterday, marking at 2’33:922s. Today, he recorded an improved timing when he clocked in fastest at 2’33:244s. Commenting on the session, Shafiq said, “I do not have a specific goal for this round. Coming in as a wildcard rider for ARRC, the challenges are different in terms of gauging the rider and their capabilities. I will nevertheless do well based on my experiences and hopefully, it will be a good shot.” In second fastest spot, it was Ahmad Afif Amran of Cardinals Racing Team Malaysia logging in at 2’33:698s. Gupita Kresna of 4S1M YAMAHA Racing Team came in the third fastest at 2’33:735s. Later in the noon, Gupita Kresna of 4S1M YAMAHA Racing Team took the pole position after the Shoot Out session when he marked his fastest at 2’46:909s. Commenting on the session, Gupita said, “I love the rainy weather and wet circuit, to be honest. I have experienced this condition before in my previous race. I am happy to have made the fastest time in the Shoot Out Session. For the coming race sessions, I do hope to get onto the podium, at the top spot.” Taking the second spot on the grid with the second fastest lap time was Md Shafiq Rasol of ONEXOX Racing Team at 2’47:913s. MUROBBIL HOPES FOR PODIUM AT SEPANG

Over the years, the Underbone 150cc has never failed to intrigue fans with its needs for technical dexterity and smart moves. Murobbil Vithoni of LFN HP969 Indonesia Racing Team is brushing up on his performance for Round 4 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship which will be held at the Sepang International Circuit this weekend. Murobbil has definitely had a sweet taste of success on the podium when he took the third place in Race 2 at the Chang International Circuit. However, UB150 being a tough one in nature did not make it easy on his endeavours to retain his momentum. Throughout this season, Murobbil was seen trying to fine tune his moves among the huge troop of riders nevertheless it was no easy feat. After three rounds, he managed to position himself at the eighth spot overall. On his performances, Murobbil said, “ARRC has definitely changed over the years. There are greater challenges coupled with more robust riders. The biggest challenge in the UB150 category is the competition. It is about putting on a good fight.” Based on my performances, I understand that I need to pay more attention on exploring the character of the machine. Although I do not rely on fast machines, it is important to know the machine well so that I can make the most of it. That way, I would also be able to fine tune my strategies for each different circuit.” The Indonesian rider who strides aboard the Yamaha MX King 150 is no stranger to the game. His participation in the race category in the last few years has garnered him valuable experiences required to perform in the highly competitive ride. Nevertheless, every circuit brings with it a different set of challenges for its rider and mastering it essentially would be key to a winning moment. Commenting on the last race, Murobbil said, “The race at Sugo was quite a good one. Personally, I did a lot of laps on that circuit during that weekend and I managed to get hold of the layout. While the circuit was quite hilly, it was not as technical as the other circuits, in my opinion.” “For the upcoming race, I am working on my physique and my mental capacity to stay focused and to keep trying. Also, it is crucial to obtain more data for the machine than the previous rounds. ONE FOR MALAYSIA

The highly anticipated Underbone 150cc category came to a close in Race 2, Round 3 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship which was held at the Sugo International Racing Course when Md Izzat Zaidi Md Salehan of Pitsbike JRT OneWay claimed victory. The race began with Md Izzat Zaidi taking a solid lead. However, the unpredictable race category saw a change of riders taking lead throughout the ten laps as they gambled their way closely in the massive trail. In lap six, Wahyu Aji Trilaksana who topped the race yesterday took a fall consequently opening up the opportunity for riders who are equally competitive a chance at victory. Izzat then maintained his speed while sliding in and out of the top five position. In lap seven and eight, Izzat found his way at the lead position but fell two positions down in lap nine. With April King taking lead in the final lap and prepping to make a dash, the last seconds of the nail-biting category saw Izzat storming into P1 before making a grand finish. Izzat clocked in at 18’08:432s. Commenting on the race, Izzat said, “I am very thankful that the setup of my machine was really good. WAHYU AJI CELEBRATES VICTORY IN RACE 1

Wahyu Aji Trilaksana of ONEXOX TKKR Racing Team bagged the winning spot in Race 1, Round 3 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship which was held in Sugo International Racing Course for the Underbone 150cc category. The race category known for its complexity and the need for an unsurpassed technical expertise saw Wahyu Aji putting on a competitive fight in his bid to take victory. Wahyu took the 8 th spot on the grid but that never dragged him down as he picked up speed, lap by lap. While Wahyu struggled to get into the top five position in the first two laps, he made it at P5 in lap three. Wahyu Aji fell to P6 in the fourth lap but the length of the circuit gave him enough time to make it back to the top five group in the following lap. By the sixth lap, Wahyu Aji has already marked his spot at P3. While he moved in and out of P3 in the next following laps, Wahyu made a striking move towards the last turn and took lead from P3. With that, he bolted ahead and carved victory, clocking in at 18’05:412s. Commenting on the race, Wahyu Aji said, “This was a fantastic race for me, being able to take a step up on the podium once again. Wahyu Aji Trilaksana of ONEXOX TKKR Racing Team made the fastest time at Round 3 Qualifying Session of the Underbone 150cc category, FIM Asia Road Racing Championship which was held at the Sugo International Racing Course. Wahyu who currently takes the top spot in the overall standing with a total of 65 points has showcased remarkable skills on a circuit known for its technical layout. His performance has been competitive throughout this season and has currently taken a place on the podium thrice out of the four races. Wahyu made his fastest today at 1’46:385s. Commenting on the qualifying session, Wahyu said, “It feels good to have made the fastest time today. We did some changes to the sprocket and the gear in practice session 1 and 2. John Emerson Inguito of 4S1M Yamaha Racing team is sharpening his skills in preparation for his race at the Sportsland Sugo International Circuit for the Underbone 150cc category of FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. The season opener may not have been a very good start for John. Pacing aboard the Yamaha Sniper 150, John’s agility kept him afloat among the lead group. Unfortunately, some may say it’s timing or perhaps the inability to find the right moment to strike, he was soon overshadowed by the velocity of riders in the highly unpredictable category. In Round 2, John took the sixteenth spot on the grid upon completing the Super Pole session. While Race 1 of Round 2 held a setback for John when he couldn’t complete the race, he made a strong finish in Race 2 when he took the third spot on the podium. John currently sits at the ninth spot overall. Commenting on his previous challenges, John said, “For Race 1 of Round 2, my machine went into a serious mechanical problem and I could not complete the race. For Race 2, thankfully I was able to catch up when the issues were rectified. I was more confident in making the necessary moves needed to not just complete the race but to put on a good fight for a spot on the podium.” For Round 3 at Sugo, John said, “I am excited. We took an overall look into the performance of the machine and gave it the required boost it needs for an enhanced performance. NAZIRUL BRINGS CHEER TO MALAYSIAN

It was a full-on for Nazirul Izzat Md Bahauddin of UMA Racing YAMAHA Maju Motor Asia Team when he raced his way up to the top spot of the podium in Race 2 of the Underbone 150cc category. Nazirul may not have stood out since the start of the ARRC nevertheless, he made Malaysians proud with his strong finish. Throughout the race, Nazirul was seen pacing back and forth among the pack of riders in the highly competitive race. It was not until lap 5 that Nazirul slipped into third position and from then on, it was picking up speed for the Yamaha Y15 ZR rider. By the last lap, Nazirul has taken the lead position. While he was chased closely by his contender, he maintained his pace and kept steady before pushing through the finish line. Nazirul finished Race 1 at the 14th spot but a remarkable recovery at the top spot when he logged in at 15:46:582s. HAFIZA PULLED A STUNNER AT RACE 1

Md Hafiza Rofa of ONEXOX TKKR Racing Team bolted confidently to the finish line to score the first spot at the podium in Race 1 of the Underbone 150cc category. The rider aboard the Yamaha Y15 ZR emerged out of nowhere in the last lap and took lead of the pack, defeating his teammate Wahyu Aji Trilaksana seconds before finishing his race at 15:43:919s. The neck-to-neck race saw Hafiza maintaining his pace and composure among the top ten riders however, in lap 5, Hafiza began picking up speed while strategizing for the last lap. The Malaysian rider pulled a stunner when he quickly pulled to the front towards the end of the race beating his teammate to the clock. IZZAT DETERMINED TO MAKE A COMEBACK THIS SEASON

Izzat Determined to Make a Comeback This Season Malaysian rider Md Izzat Zaidi Md Salehan of Pitsbike JRT One Way is covering all bases for the next round of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. The seasoned Underbone 150cc rider who scored the first spot at the podium in Race 1 only managed to finish tenth in Race 2. In 2018, Izzat took an overall standing at the second spot on the podium and is determined to make his comeback for the season. Commenting on Round 1, “The Underbone race is always a highly competitive one and being among the best often has its ups and downs. On the up, it is a good platform to measure my performance as a rider while being the push that is needed to consistently keep up to the mark. Then, there are the external factors too. Race 2 was quite a challenge especially the unexpected heat in Buriram which made handling more strenuous.” “For Round 2, my aim is to make it to Top 5.
